“He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much…” – Luke 16:10 (NASB95)
When we think about serving God, we often imagine great acts of faith- preaching to thousands, becoming a missionary, or making a huge impact. But more often than not, God works through the small, everyday moments of obedience.
Jesus reminds us that true faithfulness begins in the little things. It’s easy to overlook the significance of showing up to worship when you’re tired, offering a kind word to a discouraged brother or sister, or praying daily even when no one sees. But God sees. And He values the heart that is consistent, humble, and obedient- even in the mundane.
Consider the widow who gave only two small coins (Mark 12:41–44). Others gave much more monetarily, but Jesus said she gave more than all of them because she gave out of her poverty. Her quiet faithfulness caught the attention of God.
Being faithful in the small things prepares us for greater things. It shapes our character and teaches us to trust God in every circumstance. If we can’t be trusted to serve in quiet ways, why would God entrust us with more visible responsibilities?
So don’t grow weary in the unnoticed moments. God uses every small act for His glory. Your daily walk, your silent prayers, your hidden sacrifices- they all matter, and do not go unnoticed.
Let us be people who serve wholeheartedly, whether the task is great or small. For in the Kingdom of God, nothing done in faith and love is ever wasted.
