In light of recent events in our country, this is a question that I find might need to be addressed. Sometimes I need to be reminded and shown face to face what I am fighting for. So, to the Christian reading this: Your fight is not futile. To the American reading this: Your fight is not futile. Sometimes, it just takes a little more motivation than normal to get going. So, let this article serve you all as a reminder of what we are fighting for.
We are fighting for the freedom to express the God who set us free, and unites us as the one true country: The Kingdom of God. (Mark 1:15)
We are fighting for the freedom to stand against this world and its fleeting culture, without fear of being killed or persecuted (even though that is the price that many have to pay). (Ecclesiastes 1:2; Matthew 5:11-12)
We are fighting for a seat in the Heavenly places, even when the odds are stacked against us. We are fighting to keep our minds on things above, not things here on Earth. (Colossians 3:1-3).
We are fighting for our families. We are fighting for their circumstances, and their well-beings. We fight for morality, so that our children will be raised in a world that directs their minds not to the lusts of the flesh, but to the way, the truth, and the life. (Nehemiah 4:12-14; John 14:6)
We are fighting for unification above all. We fight for this because we acknowledge that a win is not one side being right or the other side being wrong. We acknowledge that a win would be peace and unity within the church and the country alike. (Ephesians 4:1-3)
I don’t know about you, but I’m fighting for Jesus. I will fight for Him until the day I die, whenever that day may be. Fight the good fight, and while you’re fighting, do not forget who and what it is for. (2 Timothy 4:7-8).
